Having only started playing chess in March 2020, I was 16 when I first began to learn the game. Within the first year of progress I reached a chess.com rapid rating of around 1700 and began my YouTube channel inspired by (the legend) Agadmator's promotional campaign, 'Excellent Subscribers'. Since then, 1700 has grown to over 2100 placing me in the top 0.1% of chess players globally and I have been making 'edutainment' chess content on YouTube throughout this part of my journey!
As any of you who have watched my content will know, I am a huge fan of Romantic era, artistic, 19th century chess from which I draw immense inspiration for my play style. The likes of Morphy, La Bourdonnais and Anderssen populate my analysis and opening inspiration. Chess is a game, the point of which is not just to win, but to win beautifully. I try to echo this sentiment in not only my games, but in how I teach.
